Benefits of Seeing a Psychiatrist

There are many advantages to seeking care from a Las Vegas psychiatrist. These mental health professionals complete robust and extensive training and can help treat complex mental health conditions.

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health concerns. They have completed between eight and ten years of postgraduate study, such as a psychiatric residency program. This extensive training allows them to provide the highest quality of treatment for complex mental health concerns. From medication management to specialized treatments, a psychiatrist can help improve your quality of life and mental well-being.

What To Expect From Treatment

Conditions Psychiatrists Treat

Red Rock Neuropsychiatry’s team of psychiatrists is dedicated to helping patients in Las Vegas with a variety of mental health concerns. We treat both adult and pediatric patients.

ADHD

Also known as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, ADHD can affect people of all ages and is one of the most common psychological conditions in children. Symptoms include inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.

Autism

Autism spectrum disorder is often characterized by repetitive and restricted patterns of behavior and interests. People with autism might have difficulty communicating during social interactions. It can be diagnosed at any age, though symptoms often appear during the first two years of life.

Childhood Behavioral Disorders

Misbehavior from time to time is normal in young children, but some exhibit extremely challenging behaviors that require professional support. Common childhood behavioral disorders include oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and ADHD.

Treatment-Resistant Depression

Patients often seek the help of a psychiatrist for treatment-resistant depression (TRD). TRD refers to major depressive disorder where symptoms have not been alleviated with at least two separate antidepressants at an appropriate dosage and duration. It is estimated that 20-30 percent of people diagnosed with major depression may experience TRD.

Symptoms of depression include:

  • Fatigue on most days
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Agitation or restlessness
  • Thoughts of suicide or death
  • Frequent sleepiness or insomnia
  • Feelings of guilt and low self-worth

If your depression symptoms have not improved with previous treatment, our psychiatrists can help.

Major Depressive Disorder With Anxious Depression

Major depressive disorder (MDD) with anxious depression is a specific type of MDD. In addition to symptoms of depression, patients may experience high levels of anxiety. Patients with anxious depression may also experience physical symptoms like gastrointestinal issues and heart palpitations.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Also known as OCD, obsessive-compulsive disorder is characterized by a series of unwanted thoughts and worries known as obsessions. These obsessions lead to repetitive behaviors, or compulsions. This can disrupt your daily routine and cause emotional distress.

Our highly trained team will work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses all of your mental health needs, promoting long-term wellness.
